Pushing Ahead to take pride of place at this year’s Great Yarmouth Wheels festival
Every year the world-renowned Great Yarmouth seafront plays host to hundreds of vintage vehicles and modern motors as the Wheels festival comes to town. This year, Pushing Ahead, the public-health funded campaign to promote active travel will be present to raise awareness of the health and wellbeing benefits of building cycling and walking into a daily routine.
Pushing Ahead will be displaying three exhibits at this year’s Wheels festival. These are the Funzone Challenge where older children and adults can come and test out their biking skills in a fun way, over the ramps and under the cycle limbo. This will be run by Norwich Junior Cycle Club who will also have a Lean to Ride zone to help younger children get into cycling and learn the basics of riding a bike.
In addition there’s be the chance to try out some weird and wacky bikes as well as free bicycle repairs sessions whereby mechanics will fix up your bike for free as well as providing cycle competency advice.
Pushing Ahead has helped hundreds of people build physical activity through walking and cycling into their lives and we have great resources on the website about ways to improve your health and wellbeing through active travel.
The Great Yarmouth Wheels festival takes place on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th of July. Visit the website to find out more
